Employers - How Does Practicum Work

Student-Employer Relationship

Once the recruitment and selection process has been completed, the Practicum Agreement Contract is signed by SAIT, the Employer and by the AIM Practicum Student(s). This agreement forms the foundation for your professional student-mentor relationship. Clearly defined dates, roles, responsibilities and expectations are mutually agreed upon before the start of the practicum.

During Practicum

Creating a work-plan before the Practicum start date, ensures the best possible outcomes for both your organization and your practicum student. Your role is to supervise and mentor your practicum student and provide them with real-world experiences which will set them up for future success. In return you are gaining an administrative professional who is well trained in the latest business productivity tools and processes.

Performance Feedback

Providing Weekly Performance Reviews using an online click and submit form is important in providing your practicum student with constructive feedback on their strengths and areas for growth.

Completing a Final Student Evaluation at the end of the practicum using an online click and submit form provides your practicum student with a clear understanding of their overall performance, growth and areas for improvement.
